DFO spray

Purpose

Develop sweat fingerprints and blood fingerprints on porous surface, especially for sweat fingerprints on a complex background. First, develop the fingerprints with DFO; if the result is unsatisfactory, improve it with ninhydrin.

Description

Store the prepared DFO solution in a pressurized aluminum spray. Press the nozzle, and the solution sprays in a mist form. The solution can remain effective after long-term storage.

Method

Press the nozzle to spray the solution onto the exhibit to make the exhibit saturated. After the solution volatilizes, put the exhibit in the DFO fuming chamber for 10 minutes in a temperature of 100°C. Take out the exhibit and expose it to a laser light or a 470nm, 530nm or 560nm multiband light, and the fingerprints can be viewed through a red barrier filter.

Development effect

Many comparative experiments have shown that the detection rate of fingerprints development with DFO is higher than that of ninhydrin.
